'the Bridge Quartet continues its persuasive exploration of English music' (Richard Whitehouse 2020 Arcana FM)

Over their 30 year career, the Bridge Quartet have given many London concerts, initially at the South Bank for the Kirckman Concert Society in the early 1990’s and subsequently at both the Conway and Wigmore Halls. Other concert highlights have included the City of London Festival, Jacksonville Festival Florida, the Festival du Quatours a Cordes de Fayence, France, Fundacion Juan March Madrid, Musica Eterna Dubrovnik and Sofia Festival, Bulgaria. Closer to home their English Music Festival concert at St John Smith Square received glowing reviews “this concert was an excellent representation of some great English music…a treat from beginning to end” (Classical Source 2010)

The history of the Bridge Quartet has been sprinkled with “discoveries”, Their extensive, highly praised recording legacy began with three CDs of chamber music by their namesake Frank Bridge for Meridian; the four mature quartets and premieres of an early quartet and viola quintet. Subsequent recording featuring Frank Bridge’s Piano Quintet and Rhapsody trio for Somm records received excellent reviews "an outstanding recital of Bridge chamber works…this fine ensemble sounds utterly transported by these rarefied sounds." (STRAD 2009)

As chosen artists for EM Recordings, their research has led to world premieres of neglected works by O’Neill, Parry, Goossens, Hurlstone, Butterworth and Howells to name a few. Collaborative highlights have included Gurney song cycles with pianist Michael Dussek and singers Charles Daniels and Roderick Williams. The most recent explorations have been a cycle of the complete quartets of Arnold Cooke and a recording of chamber music composed by leader Colin Twigg for Toccata Classics.
